About Trooper Branden Sisca

Trooper Branden Sisca, along with fellow Trooper Martin Mack III, were tragically killed in the line of duty on Monday, March 21, 2022 while assisting a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of I-95 in Philadelphia.  Branden was a Husband, Son, Brother, Friend, PA State Trooper, Trappe Fire Chief and expectant father to a baby girl who was due in July of 2022.

Branden was a devoted public servant who joined his local firehouse, Trappe Fire Co No 1, in 2009 as a junior firefighter when he was 16 years old.  He trained tirelessly to improve his skills and absorb as much knowledge as he could throughout is life. He continued his training after graduating from Perkiomen Valley High School in 2010 with the Fame Fire Co while a college student at West Chester University. After graduating college with a criminal justice degree, he started his journey of becoming a police officer.  He graduated from the Montgomery County Municipal Police Academy which led to a part time job as a police officer and helped build a foundation to pursue his ultimate goal.  Prior to graduating in August of 2021 from the 161st Cadet Class of the PA State Police Academy, Branden was a full time, paid firefighter first with Spring Township Fire Department in Berks County and then with Upper Providence Fire Department in Montgomery County all while still volunteering at Trappe Fire Company. While in constant training mode, Branden found time to get a Master’s Degree in Safety, Security and Emergency Management.

The joy of Branden’s life however was meeting and marrying his best friend Brittany who herself was no stranger to the public service lifestyle.  As the daughter of a Fire Chief for two decades, she herself volunteered and spent many hours in her community alongside Branden doing the work that makes a community great while keeping the rest of us safe.  Branden and Brittany shared a passion for rescue dogs and enjoyed the years they spent together loving on Riley, Penny, Levi and Brodie. They were married in September of 2021 surrounded by a devoted, tight knit group of friends who will love and miss him every day. Branden and Brittany celebrated two achievements in January of 2022, becoming fire chief and announcing they are expecting a baby girl.

The definition of a hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.  Branden was a hero in the true sense of the word for the way he lived, for the lives he impacted and for what he achieved by the young age of 29. Branden did the work to enhance the talents and passions he found within himself at a young age. He inspired those he worked with and was a respected leader, his core values of altruism, commitment, professionalism, family and growth are now the blueprint he left behind for the rest of us to follow.
